Homemade Peanut Butter

So peanut butter can range in price from a couple bucks to close to 20 dollars… if you really want to get all natural good organic super stuff in those glass containers.

How practical is it really to go out and constantly repurchase one ingredient products over and over again if we can just make them at home?

Obviously it’s not practical, so even though there are already so many other posts on how to do this, i’m going to post it anyways.  That’s how beneficial I think it is to know about.

Really all you need is peanuts.  I used unsalted roasted peanuts, but you can use whatever you want.  Since I did choose unsalted, I also added some salt to mine.  This is optional, but I think it adds flavor.

Start by putting your peanuts in the oven for between 3 and 5 minutes at 400F.  If your peanuts aren’t already labeled as roasted, you should do this between 5 and 10 minutes.  Otherwise, it’s just to warm them up and toast them a bit.


When they’re only a little bit more brown, throw them into a food processor or a high quality blender until it forms a peanut butter texture.

Add in your salt, and you’re done.


If you want crunchy peanut butter, add in more peanuts at this point and mix for a little bit.

You can also add any flavors at this time like cocoa powder or spices.
